1913 Liberty Head V Nickel Sells for $5 million.

April sales data for rare American coins is now posted. There wasn’t much activity in the way of major auctions, but one private sale made blockbuster news. One of the five known 1913 Liberty Head V nickel changed hands for $5 million. This is the second highest price ever paid for a single US coin. Interestingly, this exact same coin was sold in mid-2005 for $4.15 million.
